The SOMBRAS E LUZES 02 rug – TF10501 reflects life in this moment marked by war, polarization, conflict, and hopelessness. It invites a deeper gaze: to understand that shadow and light are coexistent and codependent — one cannot exist without the other.
Both shadow and light dwell inside and outside of us. Light generates shadow, just as shadow reveals the beauty of light.
It is essential to honor the faithful presence of hope — a quiet companion guiding us through our existential journey.

These are gallery-style rugs, handcrafted from cotton, taboa, and buriti fibers. Each tapestry is one-of-a-kind, handwoven on restored and adapted manual looms.
The entire process is both artisanal and ecologically sustainable. Taboa is harvested every eight months, allowing time for the plant to regenerate. All production waste is used to enrich the soil of an agroforestry system that nourishes the artisan families in the Santa Rita community.

Care Instructions

• Maintain with regular vacuuming or brushing to remove dust.

• Do not wash with other fabrics.

• For the first wash, add a handful of salt and vinegar to the water.

• Always wash with cold water.

• Do not machine wash.

• Use only neutral soap — do not use bleach or harsh chemicals.

• Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap.

• Dry in the shade.

• Do not store rugs in damp areas.

• As it contains cotton, the rug may shrink up to 10% after washing.
